HOT, DRY SUMMER, AGGRESSIVE WEEDS
 
    After a very hot and dry summer, I think that some of the cooler days ahead will be a welcoming sight for many, most definitely your lawn. The excessive heat and dry climate has naturally accelerated the weed activity throughout the region. As lawns weaken under the stress of heat, they give way for weeds to thrive in heat prone areas of the lawn.
    Weed growth has varied throughout the region based on variables such as sun exposed areas, sloped portions of lawn, regulated irrigation techniques and so forth. Once again these variables come into play on each and every lawn making each case unique to one another. Whatever your concerns are regarding weed activity or simply any lawn concern that you may have as we enter the fall season, please contact our service department immediately. This is the time of the year to resolve any issues that may have been created over the summer, which is the most stressful point in the entire growing season.
    As fall begins, we want every lawn to reemerge from the summer in full health and vibrant color reaping all the benefits from the healthy start that we have given the lawn over the spring season of treatments, striving to make your lawn the envy of your neighborhood, while significantly reducing the use of control materials as prescribed by our IPM program.

FLEA AND TICK CONTROL
 
    The second of three annual Flea and Tick Control applications has already been applied, ticks will continue to deposit eggs throughout the fall season. This application will allow effective continued control of the Flea and Tick population. The third and final application allows for extended control through the winter months. The cold weather does not deter flea and tick reproduction. The third application will ensure a full cycle of control all season long that will carry you through the early portions of the following spring season until your first Flea and Tick Control application of the new year.
    If you have not ordered a Flea and Tick Control application in the past, it is never too late to start. Simply call our office for a free price quote and scheduling of the service.

CORE AERATION and SEEDING
 
    Core aeration and seeding is also scheduled to begin soon, if you are interested in having this process performed on your lawn, contact our office for a price quote and scheduling.
    Core aeration is a mechanical process that extracts small cores from the topsoil approximately a half-inch in diameter and 1-3 inches in depth. Core aeration will enhance turf growth, increase irrigation to the root zone and control and minimize disease activity. The cores left behind will dry and slowly disappear after several mowings.
    Seed quotes can also be given for those worn or damaged spots on your lawn.
